Happy Friday Kenowa Families,

Thanks for your continued flexibility as we moved to remote learning this week. Our first 3 days went very well. Please continue to remind students to log in to each of their classes and to stay in touch with their teachers.

Next week all students will have a break for thanksgiving with teachers participating in Professional Development on Monday and Tuesday. I hope you are all able to take some time away and enjoy some (safe) quiet time with family.

Finally, please look for more information from the High School on Monday related to a schedule change happening on Monday, November 30. There are some details included in this newsletter, but more detailed information will be out on Monday.

Thanks again for your partnership and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Nate

Hello Kenowa Families,

It was another great week at KHHS. We concluded our week with Kindness Day today. Students were able to write notes and post them in the cafeteria. In fact, one note said that "Mr. Robrahn smells like flowers and daisies." So, that was nice! Yes, some were funny and others were a thanks for a smile or appreciation of a friendship. It was good to see our students and staff offer these words to each other.

I also wanted to follow up that we did have 3 students test positive for COVID-19 this week. We know that cases continue to rise in the county and surrounding areas, yet we would like to maintain our face to face teaching. As I say that I do know that we need to please be diligent in maintaining distance, wearing a face covering and to not gather with others outside our family. My hope is we can continue to allow our students and staff to teach in person. Yet, there may be a time where we need to pivot to remote learning. This will be similar to our beginning of the year where students will be on the computer, with their teachers for the 2 blocks each day.

Thanks again for your understanding and flexibility working with us this year.

Please remember to fill out the form for what you would like your student to do for next semester. That form is in this newsletter and includes the choice to switch or stay in the current mode. All families should fill this out please.

Thanks so much and have a great weekend.

Hello Kenowa Families,

As we finish another week, I wanted to say that I hope you are able to enjoy the weather this weekend!

With this Fall being so nice, it is hard to believe that we are transitioning into our Winter sports season. Many practices start this week or next, so please make sure your student is signed up and ready for the season.

Finally, we are only 5 weeks away from the end of our semester. Please stay in touch with teachers to make sure your students can finish strong.

Thanks again for a great week.

Hello Kenowa Families,

Thanks again for working with us through these changing times.

As I am sure you have noticed, we are experiencing a rise in COVID cases around Kent County. Please continue to do your best to follow protocols and encourage your family to stay home when necessary. I know this is very difficult and we want to make some changes, but now as we move to the winter season and we are together more indoors, please continue to be diligent.

Also, this is a big week as we are having our national and local elections. As a school we always try to allow for equal representation from all "sides" and for equal voices in whatever issue our students have. Please encourage your student to remain open and understanding to other opinions. Our ability to show empathy and care for one another even in difficult times is the sign of a great community.

Thanks again for your partnership and assistance throughout the year.

Have a great weekend and don't forget to "Fall Backward" early Sunday morning as we turn our clocks back!
